JETS takes the pressure off

Maryrose Slater, 27, had been out of work for six months before joining the Job Entry: Targeted Support (JETS) service earlier this year.

When she met with Syreeta Carty, her Maximus Recruitment Advisor, Maryrose explained that being unemployed was having an adverse effect on her mental health. She also advised that she was struggling to job search and complete applications because of her dyslexia. She said:

“My confidence had dipped to such a low prior to joining JETS. Despite being qualified for the roles I was applying for, I was not being offered interviews, which started to really affect my mental health.

“Syreeta was extremely supportive and took a lot of pressure off me. Having someone to talk things through with was a massive help.”

Maryrose worked closely with her advisor. She updated her CV and received employment and interview coaching, giving her the confidence she needed to pursue her dream job.

“Not long after joining, I was offered a position, I couldn’t believe it! JETS has taken a huge weight from my shoulders.

“The team ensured I had a smooth transition into work. They helped me obtain new work clothes and gifted me financial support for my first month of travel.

“I have renewed confidence and highly recommend Maximus to anyone struggling to find work, you’ll be in good hands! Thank you for all your help.”

Maryrose is a Support Analyst for a local company and is looking forward to progressing within the company.
